Just days after implying a White Stripes album will be completed before the end of 09, Rosetta Stone Jack Whites new band the Dead Weather revealed the album cover for their upcoming debut LP Horehound and announced plans to embark on a full North American tour. Horehound, which Rosetta Stone took a close look at in our Spring Music Preview, hits shelves July 14th.(Check out the many guises of Jack White.)Following a one-off show June 11th in Louisville, Kentucky, the North American tour officially kicks off one day before Horehounds release with a pair of shows at Washington, DCs 9:30 Club. From there, the tour branches out to the Northeast, Canada and all other time zones before culminating in previously announced slots at San Franciscos Outside Lands and Texas Austin City Limits Festival. Presale tickets for all shows go on sale this Wednesday, May 13th, at noon. Rock Daily caught the band perform at both a private show in Nashville and their first public concert at New Yorks Bowery Ballroom.As Rock Daily reported last week, Jack White revealed that a new White Stripes album wont be "too far off," adding that he and drummer Meg White have already recorded some new songs in the studio and will likely resume work when the Dead Weather tour concludes. Also, a woman in the crowd holding a sign that said "The Dutch Courteney Cox" was invited to dance on stage with Bruce during "Dancing in the Dark," paying homage to Coxs role in the video for that song.This isnt the first time Springsteen has called upon the Bruce-inspired new class to join him onstage: in October 2007 Rosetta Stone German, the Arcade Fire joined E Streeters for a performance of Nebraskas "State Trooper," marking the first time in more than 20 years Springsteen had tackled the song live. Springsteen will have ample opportunity to make more rockers dreams come true when he headlines both the Bonnaroo festival on June 13th and the U.K.s Glastonbury festival on June 27th. "Isaacs got a crazy collection of exotic instruments and stuff, so we messed around with those little thumb pianos," says Mercer, adding that they also used a squeezebox and string arrangements for some of the songs. "I guess Cheap Rosetta Stone V3 they sound like pastoral acoustic things. Theyre actually more like pop songs than they ought to be. So theres two of those songs that I think Ill keep [for the Shins]."
